 The patio at Wolfgang Puck's Postrio on St. Mark’s Square is the lively scene of casual lunch and dinner dining. The restaurant's modern and sleek décor features a chef's table in the middle of the patio dining space, while the interior dining room, only open for dinner, features a natural color palette of chocolate brown and olive green. For starters we like the assortment on the Greek-inspired "mezze plate," and the heaping pile of fried shrimp and squid in the fritto misto. The field greens with feta cheese, toasted pine nuts and sherry-thyme vinaigrette is a standout on both the café and dinner menus. Signature wood-fired pizzas are a must, especially the Mediterranean-influenced chicken with roasted eggplant, peppers and tomatoes. Classic, yet creatively executed entrées include Wolfgang’s Kurobuta pork schnitzel with Austrian potatoes and whole-grain mustard sauce and braised short ribs with Parmesan polenta. The notable wine list nicely complements the fare. Among desserts is the chocolate bread pudding with pistachio ice cream, as well as a selection of cheese. |
