The Pub at Rookwood Mews Restaurant Review: Fish 'n' chips, bangers and mash, shepherd's pie---you'll find all the traditional pub grub here. You'll also find a few dishes from throughout the British Commonwealth, like spicy Jamaican jerk shrimp, seared ahi satay and fresh mussels in red curry sauce. Save room for the Brit favorite of Tipsy Laird, berries sautéed with brandy atop fried pound cake and authentic English custard. The centerpiece of the restaurant's dining room is its handcrafted bar, from which guests can order up English drafts and cask-conditioned beers and ales from throughout the motherland. All the furniture and most of the accessories were shipped over from England to complete the British experience. The pub is undergoing renovations and has expanded its events to include beer-tasting dinners that include five courses paired with five beers. |
