This is Honolulu’s best Spanish restaurant. Then again, it’s Honolulu’s only Spanish restaurant. It’s actually a Spanish restaurant via Japan; it’s modeled on a successful Tokyo eatery of the same name. It’s fun for tapas: spicy octopus in paprika, pan-seared squid, spinach with pine nuts and raisins, steamed clams in white wine, lamb chops in basil and butter. The paella here is the signature item, but it’s made with Japanese style sticky rice, a surprise for those expecting the classic item. Still, the seafood version is a big favorite.
