The Purple Palm Restaurant Review: The Purple Palm has experienced a rapid turnover of chefs since it opened, but that fact hasn't made the place less appealing. Current chef Greg Stillman brings his own touch to this Movie Colony hideaway. Menu items include Spanish octopus with ajo blanco, piquillo pepper, chorizo and celery, as well as handmade ravioli and fresh seafood selections. Roasted baby beets coupled with warm goat cheese, candied walnuts and cilantro result in a nice, shareable starter. An emphasis on local produce remains intact, as do the striking flavor combinations that have become The Purple Palm's calling card. Of course, this being a hotel restaurant, you can wander in for breakfast, lunch or dinner and enjoy a relaxed and resort-like setting that is the quintessential Palm Springs experience.
