The Purple Palm Restaurant Review: There has been a rapid turnover of chefs ever since The Purple Palm opened, but it hasn't made the place less appealing. The good each chef did has lived after him, and the food is reliably pleasing. There is a strong emphasis on local produce and striking flavor combinations. Small plates include an over-easy duck egg with pork belly, and rutabaga hash with hollandaise sauce. There is also a luxurious crab mac ‘n’ cheese. Hanger steak comes with truffled potato "lasagna" and sauce bordelaise. Add a location that is relaxed and romantic, and the experience is hard to beat.
