Qdoba Mexican Eats Restaurant Review: This homegrown quick-casual Mexican chain gives rival Chipotle a run for its money. It does so with a very similar formula --- hefty burritos with a smorgasbord of wholesome fillings. The grilled chicken version is the most popular, followed by the charred steak model. Both come with a range of mild-to-smoldering salsas, rice, beans (black or pinto) and other additions, including grilled vegetables and complimentary hand-smashed guacamole. We gravitate toward the ancho chile burrito, a filled-to-the-max fatty with a smoky barbecue sauce scented with a whisper of chocolate. Tacos feature a thick or soft shell heaped with tasty fillings; there’s also the naked burrito (served in a bowl instead of the typical flour tortilla), vegetarian wraps, fajitas, nachos, taco salads, quesadillas and a hearty Mexican gumbo. Some locations offer a short list of Mexican and local microbrews, as well as breakfast burritos.
