The Quarter Bistro Restaurant Review: Worth the drive to Mariemont, this charming bistro is a chill, high-quality destination in the 'burbs. The outdoor patio, with its flower beds and good-looking crowd, is the place to spend a warm summer evening. That said, cool spring and autumn nights also are pleasant when spent outdoors, especially since the patio has heaters when it's cool, and servers even offer blankets. The bistro's location, next to the old-fashioned Mariemont Theater, makes it a good place for a date night. (On Wednesdays, you can even get a 20 percent discount with the purchase of a movie ticket.) Inside, there's elegant seating, white linen tablecloths and usually a crowd. The contemporary-eclectic menu features dishes hailing from the Pacific Rim, the Mediterranean and the good ol' U.S. of A. Offerings change seasonally, but starters might range from lobster macaroni and cheese to guacamole with house-made corn chips. The go-to main dish is the 18-hour short ribs with house tortellini. Small plate options include truffle fries, truffled risotto or French green beans. Typical bar offerings, like pizza and burgers, have an upscale twist. For vegetarians, the veggie tacos are a good choice. Meanwhile, dessert options may include crème brûlée, strawberry shortcake and bread pudding.
