RA Sushi Bar Restaurant Restaurant Review: With a festive atmosphere and friendly, accommodating servers, RA is more of a place for a date or groups of friends than a destination for serious food aficionados. The menu features Japanese fare with a twist: sushi, teriyaki bowls, various noodles (soba, udon, yakisoba), and meat and fish entrées with flavorings such as sesame, ginger, wasabi and yuzu. Our favorite is the dengaku tofu laced with sweet tempura sauce and served with a red miso-ginger glaze. Sushi is far from traditional; if you enjoy fusion rolls with mango, jalapeños and cream cheese this is your place. Although an assault on the senses, we admit to liking the crazy monkey roll with its salmon, mango, cream cheese, avocado and cashews. Mains include apple salmon teriyaki with mashed potatoes and snow peas, and Katsu chicken with Asian-inspired coleslaw. There are several rich dessert selections, such as cinnamon tempura ice cream and fried bananas with Kahlúa. Any of the interestingly named drinks are recommended, such as Dragon Bite, which contains Bacardi Dragon Berry, strawberry purée, fresh lemon juice, Japanese yuzu and a splash of soda. |
