| Racanelli’s is a family-run chain with locations scattered across the metro area, but it gets street cred from its roots in the Bronx and --- before that --- Bari, Italy. The thin-crust pies come topped with everything from spinach to meatballs; the Bronx Bomber has all 14 toppings at once. However, it’s the Sicilian --- a double-rise pizza baked in a pan --- that really shows off the simple pleasure of a good sauce and gooey cheese. Calzones, strombolis, heroes and sandwiches piled on house-made focaccia round out the menu. This location in the Central West End gets plenty of business from the nearby hospitals. And, yes, Racanelli’s delivers. |
