| Racines maintains a healthy business by sticking to its guns and ignoring changing trends, resolutely serving flavorful, wholesome American meals augmented by plentiful platters of Mexican dishes. It has also remained true to its target business clientele that always includes movers and shakers; the array of homemade pies and pastries here are enough to keep the suits coming back. The house also whips up a whopping selection of just-like-Mom's sunrise specials including flapjacks (try the gingerbread variety, served with apple-pecan butter) and waffles. Lunch and dinner crowds revel in an overwhelming variety of soups, stews, quiches, pastas, sandwiches and respectable cuts of beef and poultry. A post-meal or post-deal cocktail at the bar makes for a good end-of-the-day transaction. If you hanker for a little nibble after a show at the nearby Denver Center for the Performing Arts, we suggest a billowy triangle of banana cream pie. |
