| Pick-up trucks, SUV’s and compact cars fill the parking lots at these ’cue Meccas starting at 11 a.m. as the lunch crowd files in for a place on the serving line. Plate or sandwich, chopped or sliced, name your sides. Beef, sausage and ribs are favorites, while ham, turkey, salami and bologna are options as well. The meat is tantalizingly tender, filled with hot wood flavor and mild spices. Sandwiches are stacked high on a basic white bun swiped with mustard and topped with a pickle and onions. Plated entrées come with your choice of two sides---beans, potato salad or coleslaw. And, oh, that slaw---just the right blend of vinegar, seasonings and cabbage. A big glass of iced tea or a cold mug of beer washes it all down. |
