Red Bar & Restaurant Restaurant Review: Red Bar & Restaurant’s design is both sleek and homey, complementing the cuisine’s fresh take on Italian and American cooking. A modern bar and lounge area, painted in the establishment's namesake hue, leads into a blue and yellow dining area. Beyond that, there is closed-off garden seating for eating in a different atmosphere. The prix-fixe menu, available from Sunday to Thursday, offers a good selection of dishes for a reasonable price. You could start off with a Caesar salad, the soup of the day, calamari or mussels before moving on to an entrée and one of three desserts. Not everything on the menu works, but the tender organic breast of chicken served with creamy mashed potatoes is a rustic meal elevated by its execution. Banana coconut tiramisu is a nice twist on the classic, the tropical flavors seamlessly blending with the espresso. On the à la carte menu, try the burrata. The salmon stands up well to the “famous” and flavorful caponata, and the chef's seven-course tasting menu is an option for adventurous diners.
