The Red Pheasant Restaurant Review: One of Cape Cod's most historic restaurants, the Red Pheasant is housed in a meticulously restored 200-year-old red barn. The restaurant was opened in 1977 by restaurateur Bill Atwood. Today Bill Atwood, Jr. runs the kitchen, but little else has changed over the years. The Red Pheasant's menu is classic Cape, with an emphasis on local farm products. Dishes include comfort food like pan-roasted swordfish with lemon chive gnocchi and grilled sirloin steak, as well as vegetarian options like farro risotto with seasonal vegetables. We recommend the daily changing game special and, to start, the country-style terrine. The wine list is a highlight. A book full of reds, whites and bubblies offers a voyage around the world. Desserts are traditional and simple, and include profiteroles and house-made tiramisu.
