Renaissance is the premiere wholesale hearth bread baker in greater Miami, if not all of South Florida. Their tiny storefront, located off Biscayne Blvd. in a less-than-charming section of North Miami, is a thoroughbred set in rather common pastures. Extremely crusty baguettes and dense, nutty multigrains are the cream of the crop, while sweets and cakes tend to be plain and uninteresting. Sample from Renaissance’s olive, rosemary and sourdough boules, and good luck getting the fresh focaccia home without tearing into it in the car.
