ReNapoli Pizzeria & Chicago Italian Beef Restaurant Review

: Pizzas prepared in the Romana, Napoletana and classic New York City styles, as well as prime beef au jus served "dipped," "juicy” or "soaked" in its juices with a baguette, are the main draws on ReNapoli’s menu. Before you head to the restaurant, though, choose a favorite bottle of vino to bring with you; it's BYOB. Romana pies (baked in a teglia double-gauged steel pan) have a crisp, medium-bodied crust. Napoletanas, with the dough prepared and fermented at room temperature in wood dough boxes, are more typical of American-style pizzas. The flavor lies in the crust, charred in a wood-burning oven, yielding a consistency that is crispy on the surface and soft within. Finally, an array of pies served New York City-style arrive heaped with toppings and cheeses. Stromboli sliders, an Italian take on the traditional burger variety with 3 mini stromboli, mozzarella and pepperoni, as well as meatballs, ricotta and garlic make for a satisfying starter that still leaves room for the main course. Beef lovers should try the Chicago beef combo with fennel sausage in a spicy giardiniera. There's also a chicken version for the less than ardent red meat lover.
