| Tuscany has been transported to Palm Beach---or so it seems when you come upon the quaint, cobbled courtyard that leads to Renato's. Effervescent sounds of a baby grand float through the intimate dining room, which enchants with warm woods, Pierre Deux fabric-covered walls, Limoge table settings, and nosegays of roses arrayed on crisp linen top cloths. The music and romantic ambience continue to flow through open French doors and out to a flowery patio where you can wine and dine al fresco under large canvas umbrellas, while tuxedoed waiters pamper unobtrusively with polished European service. The menu features contemporary takes on Italian and Continental cuisine. Be sure to try one of the homemade pasta dishes, which change daily but consistently feature fresh ingredients simply prepared. Seafood selections such as crispy jumbo shrimp with lobster curry sauce are similarly sumptuous, but the show-stopper is the herb-crusted medallions of lamb glazed with candied garlic sauce. Wine selections are mostly Italian, with some excellent French and California vintages. Renato's is a total charmer, as is its rustic Cellar Room, which you can reserve for private parties. |
