La Vague d'Or Restaurant Review:
Dreamy terrace on the other side of the bay, this restaurant has a charming atmosphere with soft music that will allow you to relax. The service is fault-free. How much? You'll feel so good you won't think about it, but if you do, try the excellent set-price meal. The talented Arnaud Donckele deftly answers the desires of diners with his carte: blue lobster cannelloni in curry flavored with star anise and lemon grass, John-Dory and gamberoni mussels à la plancha and couteaux mollusks with Thai basil or foie gras, ascidians in a duck and artichoke consommé similar to miso, a sequence of dishes whose brilliance is not soiled, to the very good chocolate dessert, hot ginger tart, tonka bean ice cream, Piedmont hazel nut fondant. The slow fox trot of a romantic meal is accompanied well by some Dom Pérignon, a Bagnard des Valentines, a Trévallon, a Beaucastel or a Lafite 85. The young wine waiter hands out deft advice about the enticing cellar, rich in regional wines and fine Bordeaux.
