: The name of this restaurant is the Native American word for hummingbird. And once you’ve tasted the food of chef-owner Michael Miller, you probably will be as busy as a hummingbird telling your friends about it since this is one of the best restaurants to open recently in San Jose. Start with the silky roasted-corn and ginger soup, topped with Dungeness crab. Miller worked under Wolfgang Puck and, like Puck, turns out creative pizzas---try the one with smoked sturgeon, horseradish cream and lemon preserves. Vegetables or seafood are featured in the ever-changing risottos. Main courses usually include cedar-roasted salmon, prime New York steak and grilled lamb chops. Among the fanciful desserts are jasmine rice custard and mascarpone cheesecake. Managing partner Cam Fraser oversees the well-organized wine list, with wines listed from light to heavy by country.
