THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Rey Willie's Hamburgers y Mas Restaurant Review:

This restaurant borders the historic, near-downtown neighborhood of King William. Neighbors have always frequented this spot, but in Willie’s previous incarnation as Rosario’s, the wildly popular Mexican restaurant that recently moved to larger quarters up the street. As if to placate the regulars, the décor has remained largely unchanged; it’s still bold, brash and brightly colored. Margaritas remain the drink of choice. But the menu bears no resemblance to the previous document; in place of upscale enchiladas and fancy fajitas, we now find a small but sophisticated selection of burgers and similar sandwiches. The list starts with a base model and accessorizes with cheddar cheese, jalapeños, guacamole and chipotle mayonnaise. A veggie stack burger piles grilled eggplant, yellow squash, zucchini, green onion and portobello mushrooms onto a multi-grain bun anointed with basil pesto. The Southtown chicken burger comes with grilled eggplant and roasted garlic mayonnaise. An inventive salad with an Asian-inspired dressing accompanies just about everything, including the one belt-buster on the menu, a 14 oz. T-bone. Desserts might include chocolate-raspberry cheesecake. And there you have it; the king is content with minimal choices. Fortunately, the flavors are big.
