| DC’s primo ribs place is a hole-in-the-wall, with a glass partition separating walk-in customers from the guy out back cooking. It lacks all the amenities eateries should have, including chairs, napkins and a menu. But the savvy come here strictly for the cash-and-carry ribs, some of the best in town, cooked in the white brick oven emitting clouds of fragrant hickory smoke you can smell blocks away. Order the ribs as a whole rack, as part of a dinner platter, or made into a sandwich. You get a choice of sides---though greens are both sour and salty---and one dessert choice. Tastes run to other basics? Fish, turkey wings, beef ribs, sandwiches and chicken round out the cook’s repertoire. |
