Robert's Restaurant Review: Robert's is a must-visit restaurant on Long Island, offering a menu of local specialties prepared in an old-world style. Chef Natalie Byrnes manages to bring a personal touch to classic preparations, using only the best ingredients to create a range of seasonal dishes. Appetizers include tomato salad with fresh burrata in the summer, and succulent cornmeal-crusted calamari in the winter. Be sure to sample some of the local fish mains, like striped bass with sweet roasted corn. For a side dish, we suggest the polenta and Gorgonzola, or better yet, the seasonal truffle offerings. Fresh fruit pies are the standout desserts. In the summer, ask to be seated in the outdoor garden; alternatively, the warm and cozy dining room is ideal for winter evenings, especially while sipping one of the robust red wines.
