About the restaurant: Located a half-hour’s drive from New Orleans, Rocky & Carlo’s lies off the beaten path. It’s anything but fancy, but once you’ve experienced it, you’ll never forget it.

Food & Drinks: The immense portions, served with little fuss or embellishment, emerge from a row of cafeteria-style steam tables. Despite the super casual arrangement, you just might wait for a seat. Mainstays include mac ‘n’ cheese, fried shrimp and oyster plates, jambalaya, spaghetti with meatballs, braccioloni (stuffed and rolled veal breast), onion rings, potato salad and po' boys. Desserts --- sweet and heavy --- include a bananas Foster spumoni cake. Domestic and imported beers and wine are available. And the ambience? Well, sometimes no ambience is an atmosphere all its own.
