Rosebud Steakhouse fills a niche somewhere between Gibsons and ultra-old-school Gene & Georgetti, and that's generally a nice place to be. There’s not a lot of Italian food on the menu here, so expect a rather different approach from this usually pasta-driven team. The room is intimate enough, especially for a steak joint, so you may want to linger over escargots and barbecue-glazed, bacon-wrapped scallops. Given the steakhouse bent, you’ll also find shrimp cocktail alongside bone-in rib-eye. Seafood choices are mostly well wrought---especially the whitefish. The smart wine list features an impressive range of California reds, while desserts cover familiar territory, as in Key lime pie. Another boon: It’s conveniently located for Michigan Avenue shoppers.
