Rosine's Restaurant Review: Rosine’s is a 30-year-old Monterey standby with a large, loyal, local following. Hearty portions swim against the tide of trendy concepts and tiny plates, usually successfully. Salad dressings and sauces are made in-house, as are desserts, which are best shared. Half-size and mini portions of some dishes are available. The tome of a diner-style menu tries to include something for everyone, but dishes are at their best when they highlight the owners' Italian heritage. We recommend the pasta selections --- the marinara sauce from a family recipe is tasty; try the house-made meatballs. Service is friendly and consistently cheerful.
