Rosine's Restaurant Review: Rosine’s is a 30-year-old Monterey standby with a large and loyal local following. Hearty portions are the order of the day. This swims against the tide of trendy concepts and tiny plates, at times more successfully than others. All salad dressings and sauces are made in-house, as are desserts, which are best shared. Half-size and mini portions of some dishes are available. The tome of a diner-style menu tries to include something for everyone, but dishes are at their best when they highlight the owners' Italian heritage. We recommend the pasta selections --- the marinara sauce from a family recipe is tasty; try the house-made meatballs. Service is friendly and consistently cheerful.
