: The tiny room, dressed in creamy green walls and local art pieces, glows from the warmth of its doting owners and is energized by the anticipation of diners eager to sample the French-inspired American cuisine on the short menu. It’s best to try the $48, four-course, prix-fixe menu for a sampling of grilled black fig and Stilton salad, smoked trout served with grapefruit and bacon in a sherry vinaigrette or a hearty cassoulet with confit of pork, rabbit and house-cured duck sausage. The wine list, which can be casually enjoyed on its own at the mahogany bar or outside on the small patio, offers both local and global wines beginning at $23 a bottle.
