Walking out to Ruby's Huntington Beach is quite a feat as the restaurant is located on the end of Huntington’s pier, which stretches one third of a mile over the water. Kids and adults alike delight in the house favorite: an old-fashioned burger with a side of fries and a cherry Coke or old-fashioned chocolate shake. There’s also more contemporary and healthy fare, like salads and sandwiches, along with hot dogs, soups and chili just in case you're not in the mood for burgers. Though the chain is a mere quarter of a century old, the original Ruby's was housed in a 1940s-era bait shack at the end of Newport’s Balboa Pier, and of all the 40 or so locations maintain that retro feeling and down-home service.
