Ruggles Cafe Bakery Restaurant Review: Take a number and prepare to wait in line at this counter-service café where Susan Molzan's pastries shine --- in particular, her ballyhooed white chocolate bread pudding, made with buttered baguette slices and vanilla cream. She's also the mastermind behind the domino cake, layered with white and dark chocolate mousse, as well as the apple spice cake, the chocolate crème brûlée and the tres leches. With such a lineup, it's no surprise that the West University area ladies who lunch nibble on salads before the main attraction: desserts. A tasty char-grilled Angus burger is served on a fresh whole-wheat bun with a side of steak fries. If eating light, you may be better off just having the signature roasted tomato-basil soup. If you want some wine with your meal, you may bring your own. The staff will supply the glasses and there’s never a corkage fee. And don’t forgo the breakfast offerings: we suggest the honey chicken biscuit or the sausage and cheese frittatas, but the garden tacos are a solid vegetarian choice.
