RumFire Restaurant Review: RumFire at Sheraton Kauai Resort offers a relaxed beach atmosphere. The kitchen turns out Hawaiian- and Asian-influenced starters such as ahi poke, shrimp lumpia and Japanese pear flatbread, along with more substantive dishes like Hawaiian jerk chicken with plantain mash, roasted sweet peppers and carrots; and a pork chop with buttery fingerling potatoes. The four-course prix-fixe menu is always a good option. A tasty flourless sea salt chocolate cake is a sweet finish to a pleasant meal. The namesake spirit plays a part in many of the signature drinks, but you may also go beyond the mai tai with the Coco Cucumber Fresh made with Kai Young Coconut Shochu, Thatcher’s organic cucumber liqueur, muddled cucumber, lime and coconut water. Service is professional and friendly.
