| The first Big Island location of this well-established chain is located inside the luxe Shops at Mauna Lani and the décor is evocative of classic Old Hawaii. Of course, there is no limit to the number of diners partaking of the butter-drenched steaks served sizzling hot on pristine white plates. This beef needs no enhancement, though discerning patrons know that a fine red wine from the extensive wine list just adds to the dining pleasure. We try to order other items from a menu that includes fine seafood choices, but find ourselves always choosing the cowboy rib-eye, a bone-in steak full of robust beefy flavor. Stick with classic accompaniments here from broiled tomatoes to creamed spinach and baked potatoes with all the trimmings. Unique to this resort location is a late-afternoon menu suitable for refueling after a round of golf or tennis match. We doubt there is a cocktail these skilled bartenders don't know how to concoct. |
