THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Saigon Annie Restaurant Review:
Saigon Annie occupies a small cottage that previously housed one of Ventura Boulevard's ubiquitous Thai eateries. Now the pad thai and curries are gone in favor of big bowls of pho (beef and noodle soup), delicious chao tôm (shrimp paste grilled on sugarcane stalks) and delicately seasoned beef over rice noodles. You can even find a shake made from the infamous, stench-emitting durian fruit (order with care). The dining room is filled with glass-topped linen-clad tables and strikingly beautiful photos of owner Annie Nguyen's native country, set in antique or weather-worn window frames. With its friendly service and very reasonable prices, this eatery is a refreshing addition to the Ventura Boulevard dining scene.
