Sal's has been a fixture along this well-traveled stretch of Highway 90 for nearly 20 years. The restaurant's proximity to Lake Des Allemands makes it a reliable source of good fried catfish, which the lake produces in profusion. Within the brick and brown expanses of the three low-ceilinged dining rooms, a gargantuan appetite can be assuaged with heaps of the aforementioned specialty, as well as oversized onion rings, boiled seafood, crabmeat-stuffed trout and a zestily spiced sauté of shrimp.
