Right on Pacific Coast Highway where exclusive South Laguna and Dana Point intersect and street lights don’t shine, this spacious Craftsman-style restaurant glows bright at night with its woodsy outdoor patio fire pits, minimalist Mission period décor and lively jazz scene. Longtime chef Scott Floyd has left the mesquite grills at Salt Creek Grille and sous chef Scott Green is now behind the fire. The American grill cuisine here ranges from entrée salads and burgers to mesquite-grilled seafood and hand-cut Prime steaks. If you only eat pork chops once a year, make it here. A soufflé is the must-have dessert, so make sure to order one with your entrée so the kitchen has plenty of time to prepare it. Sunday’s jazz buffet brunch is usually a sold-out affair. The private dining rooms are also reserved months in advance for rehearsal and anniversary dinners, executive meetings and end-of-deal business parties. |
