THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Salt 'N Pepper Restaurant Review:
Salt 'N Pepper represents simplicity --- and the only type of seasoning needed for chef Alex Stratta’s Southern comfort food dishes. Décor features red booths, white-framed mirrors, cage-like chandeliers and pumpkin-colored walls. Representatives of the Southern comfort dishes are the fried pickles with spicy ranch dressing with just the right amount of spice and batter that doesn’t fall off; warm honey butter biscuits with molasses; and fried mac and cheese bites. We especially like the smothered fried pork chops topped with collard greens, kale and bacon gravy, served with homemade cornbread. We also enjoy the fried chicken and sweet potato waffles, which are accompanied by maple syrup and a honey hot sauce for dipping. Try the half slab of St. Louis-style barbecued ribs that are so tender they fall off the bone. The drinks menu has plenty of charm, with cocktails such as S ‘N P Lynchburg Lemonade, made with lemonade, Jack Daniel's and a splash of ginger beer. Finish with banana pudding, red velvet cake or a lemon meringue ice box pie with graham cracker crust.
