Salts Restaurant Review:

While a dinner-party vibe suffuses this tiny, handsome space tucked between Kendall and Central Squares, the ever-changing menu is almost formal in its refinement and precision. French-American cuisine has a focus on local flair with dishes that may include French onion soup made even richer with the addition of Berkshire pork or Gruyère ravioli and sourdough croutons. Classic tours de force such as roasted halibut meet their modern match in accompaniments like black truffle caviar. Call in advance if your heart is set on the signature lavender honey-glazed duck for two: this coveted item has limited availability. For dessert, we recommend the lemon soufflé tart served with a side of green tea ice cream or the "inside out" carrot cake made with caramel poached pineapple, dark raisins and a scoop of pineapple buttermilk sorbet. A five-course chef's tasting menu is available to be paired with a nice selection of wines that span from California to Uruguay.
