Salty's at Redondo Beach Restaurant Review: One of the three Salty’s locations, this outpost draws the fewest tourists. Locals come to enjoy the views --- particularly sunsets that fade behind the Olympic Mountains --- and well-prepared seafood. We enjoy dropping in for a comfortable, laid-back meal, sitting out on the deck when weather allows, or in the lounge listening to live music. A favorite starter is the coconut-tempura tiger prawns accented with a spicy chili sauce. On occasion, we may share a classic spinach salad featuring sliced eggs and mushrooms, tossed with a bacon dressing. Memorable main courses carry an Asian accent, such as Thai-style scallops with ginger rice and cilantro curry, or macadamia-crusted snapper with green papaya salad and coconut rice. Dine in a leisurely fashion and you might have an appetite for the crème brûlée trio or white chocolate mousse cake resting in a pool of raspberry purée. The real splurge is Sunday brunch and one of the area's most extravagant seafood buffets. Stop in during happy hour for a bargain glass of wine and enjoy the salmon Caesar salad.
