Salvador Molly's Restaurant Review: The eclectic menu at this family-friendly eatery in southwest Portland spans the globe, with a special emphasis on warmer climes. The décor is roadside tropical, the margaritas flow, and a Latin beat pulsates through the air. The menu offers lots of highly spiced dishes from Thailand, India and Ethiopia mingling with Caribbean specialties and Creole treats. As soon as you walk in, you'll be offered a bowl of peanuts; feel free to toss the shells on the floor. Then try the catfish po' boy, the chimichurri steak, the dosas with potato chickpea curry, or the Thai tilapia with tamarind mint sauce. Children will enjoy the party-time atmosphere and the more interesting than usual kiddie menu. Salvador Molly's biggest claim to fame is the Great Balls of Fire, doughy habanero cheese fritters that explode with heat. If you eat all five you'll have your picture taken for the "Hall of Flame." The drink to order here is definitely a margarita.
