Sammy’s Restaurant & Bar Restaurant Review:
Amid a bright, breezy ambience and a striking atrium facing Green Valley Parkway, Sammy's offers tapas like mini duck tacos topped with feta cheese and a creamy tomato-cilantro sauce. Imaginative salads include red quinoa with organic golden beets, tomatoes, avocado, onion, arugula, parsley, toasted almonds, mint, scallions and a citrus-chili vinaigrette. We like the lobster bisque laced with sherry. Try the oak-roasted salmon filet with Asian salad, and the chicken and spinach fettuccine in a tequila-lime cream sauce. It’s pizza that’s king here, however, finished with the likes of garlic-marinated chicken; shrimp with sautéed mushrooms, sliced red onion and garlic sauce; and organic arugula and pear with prosciutto, Gorgonzola and organic salad tossed in balsamic-basil dressing. Several menu items are unique to this location, including braised lamb shank, ahi poke, kung pao calamari and hot rock --- sliced New York steak with chili ponzu cooked on a hot rock by the guest. Splurge on Sammy’s "Messy" ice cream sundae. Weekend brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. offers breakfast items such as a Brie omelet, brioche french toast and breakfast tacos.
