Sammy's, one of San Diego’s favorite casual chains, is now in the Valley, with a menu that reflects some intriguing eclectic influences. The globetrotting begins with tapas like Mediterranean lebni cheese with herbed pita and fresh tomatoes, mini duck tacos and Japanese chicken meatballs. Pizzas include barbecued chicken, margherita, and garlic chicken with red onions and mushrooms. We particularly like the crispier, artisan thin-crust pizzas, like raclette with fingerling potatoes and bacon, or truffle-scented Brie and mushrooms. Salads and pastas are also offered, but you can't visit Sammy's without trying the signature messy sundae, mini-donuts with chocolate dipping sauce, or even a dessert pizza.
