This is more than a big, loud sports bar. For one thing, it proudly proclaims its microbrewery status. Brews run the gamut from Harbor Light to Santa Barbara Blonde to Old Town Nut Brown. The menu is better than you might expect from a sports bar: lobster linguine, grilled salmon, blackened chicken and pan-seared halibut. And locals like to come in after the Tuesday night farmers market for nibbles like rosemary french fries. There’s even a nice mix of fresh, healthy salads. All things considered, though, this is a place where heavy is better. Case in point: State Street Stout, an inky-dark yet smooth beer with strong notes of chocolate and roasted coffee flavor.
