| Chef Sergio Abramof's second Cleveland dining hot-spot (he also owns Sergio's in University Circle) is a hip and stylish escape from cool-climate Cleveland, and yet it somehow feels right at home in the city's Shaker Square neighborhood. Saravá is as large and open as Sergio's is small, and its 24-seat bar boasts a lengthy menu. Among the small plates are the tamale cakes, Saravá burgers and artichoke fritters, each big on flavor with well-seasoned accompaniments. Be sure not to miss happy hour, when patrons not only get $1 off all drinks, but they can pick three small plates and pay a mere $12. If you're coming for dinner and looking for something a bit more filling, the pasta dishes (chipotle chicken penne and veal bolognese) and house specialties (brick-oven roasted pork chops and picanha) share space on a tailored list of entrées. Pizzas are small, thin and crispy (our favorite is the Mediterranean vegetable). In the summer, a 100-seat patio, featuring live music and a tropical vibe, tempts passersby. The wine and cocktail list is short but adequate. |
