Satsuma Cafe Restaurant Review: Cassi and Peter Dymond opened their first Satsuma Café deep in the heart of the Bywater neighborhood, but soon afterwards expanded to this bright, uptown corner location. The menu offers healthful breakfasts and lunches. Light fare rules, with rich, grainy breads; freshly squeezed juices (try the “Popeye” --- spinach, lemon, kale and apple --- it tastes much better than it sounds); sandwiches (a warm portobello with roasted garlic spread on ciabatta, for example); and a Thai noodle salad with peanut dressing. Ginger cake is a nice ending to a Satsuma experience. Bring your own wine; there’s a $5 corkage fee. PS: Linger over a Sunday breakfast with the green eggs and ham sandwich. Also located in the Bywater at 3218 Dauphine St., 504-304-5962.
