On weekend mornings, Noe Valley locals hover outside the plate glass window entrance of this popular neighborhood spot. Just inside the window, cooks hurriedly flip crêpes and burgers and piles of oversized scones and muffins line the tiled shelf awaiting delivery to the tables. A high-ceilinged dining room evokes a vaguely Mediterranean décor but keeps it simple and approachable as this is a family-friendly spot. Outside, plenty of tables are dappled with sunlight that streams in from between the umbrellas and overhanging trees. This spot is so easygoing it serves the same menu all day. Almost twenty crêpes are available from the savory Barcelona with Fontina cheese, caramelized onions, spinach, and mushrooms to the sweet Oruba with fresh strawberries, cinnamon and brown sugar. Scrambles and omelets are accompanied by fragrant rosemary-roasted potatoes. A hearty burger surely qualifies as one of Noe Valley's best. |
