| This hip sushi bistro is owned and operated by restaurateur Jimmy Ishii, and it’s definitely hot. Sekisui Pacific Rim is a Japanese eatery, with sushi and sashimi and delicate tempura, but the menu goes much further. Consider seared tuna with seven Japanese spices, seaweed salad with seafood, and oven-roasted duck breast measuring its sweetness against a Thai red curry reduction. The food here looks as good as it tastes, thanks to artful presentations in the Asian aesthetic. Service ticks like friendly clockwork, while the wine list is designed to complement the many flavor combinations and contrasts that come from this high-energy kitchen. |
