Sekisui Pacific Rim & Sushi Bistro Restaurant Review: Restaurateur Jimmy Ishii owns several branches of Sekisui spread across Memphis, but this is probably the hippest location, with water walls and dim mood lighting. Of course, the menu features traditional sushi roll offerings, but you’ll also find plenty of globally inspired entrées. Consider panko-crusted salmon with tomato ratatouille, the teriyaki burger with shiitake mushrooms and American cheese, and oven-roasted duck breast with a Thai curry reduction. The food here looks as good as it tastes, thanks to artful presentations in the Asian aesthetic. Service ticks like friendly clockwork, while the wine list is designed to complement the many flavor combinations and contrasts that come from this high-energy kitchen. The Gloria Ferrer Brut will ably handle many of these dishes, especially the sushi. For other quaffs, check out the extensive beer list or the many saké offerings. Eager for dessert?
