Berkeley locals pack this large, modern restaurant for northern Chinese dishes made with the freshest ingredients, from classics such as hot-and-sour soup and moo shu pork to more exotic fare such as chien pi chicken with sun-dried orange peel and spicy fermented black bean bitter melon and tofu. A dish of stir-fried black mushrooms, water chestnuts and fresh snow peas is good as an accompaniment to other dishes or by itself. The tea menu is a nice touch.
