Shivalik Indian Cuisine Restaurant Review: Shivalik is a boon for vegetarians, though there's also an abundance of lamb, chicken and fish dishes on its lengthy menu. The best picks come from the tandoor, a clay oven that allows flavors to meld while keeping meat tender. The minced lamb curry, with its blend of spices, is another winner. We also recommend the distinctive malai kofta, dumplings made of mashed vegetables and simmered in an almond-cashew sauce; and even those who don't care much for okra may change their mind when they try the bhindi do pyaza, which spices it up with onions and tomatoes. Naan --- chewy, warm, flavorful --- is a must, and even better when stuffed with ground lamb or Indian cottage cheese. The dining room, with its booths and white tablecloths, allows you to forget you're in a shopping center.
