Shoefly Public House Restaurant Review

: What started out as a family-friendly neighborhood place for good fare and a fine craft beer has become a destination dining venture for those who appreciate contemporary cuisine in casual, warm environs. The centuries-old building that houses Shoefly Public House has taken well to the renovations, featuring exposed brick walls, handsome handmade four-tops and communal tables, and large windows that let in the light. While the menu changes seasonally, there is something for everyone, from a lamb falafel sandwich to beer-battered walleye and no-meat-loaf, made with country mash and crispy onions. The duck wing appetizer is a favorite of regulars, especially when paired with a craft brew or house-made ginger beer. And, of course, there’s shoefly pie, only this version is akin to a soft molasses cookie and topped with ginger gelato.
