| The second outpost of New Zealand native Bryan Wilson’s neighborhood joint operates in Tucker with essentially an identical menu to the Decatur location, with a few exceptions. The interior of the restaurant is very spiffy, despite its outward appearance, with a shiny copper sheet wall and pinpoint lighting. But you'll find the same thin-crust, wood-oven-baked pizzas, including the Shorty's originals, such as Sid Vicious with its myriad meats (Black Forest ham, salami, sausage, pepperoni and ground beef). Salads are huge and fresh, and the Caesar comes topped with a generous amount of tart white anchovies. Daily changing specials and a burger and pasta special are available. Dessert choices include the apple pizzas. Good beers on draught and some wines quench a thirst, but we still argue for more New Zealand wines on the list in deference to Wilson's home turf. |
