Shula's Restaurant Review: Shula's is yet another restaurant in the long line of those opened by a famous sports figure. That said, it's classier than a typical sports bar, with dinner entrées displayed tableside on a cart before ordering and a subdued ambience accentuated by dark wood, intimate dining rooms and low lighting. Somehow, they have managed to evoke a wisp of romance amidst glass displays of football helmets, menus painted on official NFL game footballs (all signed by Shula himself) and framed jerseys---just the sort of spot to successfully woo your favorite sports fanatic. Entrées are hearty, ranging from live Maine lobster to certified Angus beef. And it would be a mistake to think of Shula's as just a steakhouse. Other menu items include French-cut chicken breast, salmon and jumbo lump crab cakes. Save room for dessert. Shula's favorite, the seven layer chocolate cake, is a decadent way to end the evening. |
