Located in The Edgewater, Seattle’s only genuine waterfront hotel, Six Seven Restaurant & Lounge (named for its location on Pier 67) offers views of Elliott Bay complemented by a contemporary, seasonally-inspired menu. The hotel gained fame in 1964 when the Beatles fished from their guest room windows; today, the quirky décor is a cross between an elegant mountain lodge and a seaside hotel---eccentric but pleasant. For dinner, favorites include tempura-battered asparagus, a plump Dungeness crab and shrimp cake paired with lobster-lemon grass sauce, orange-scented lamb sous vide, pan-roasted wild Alaskan halibut, or tender Harris Ranch pasture-raised filet mignon. For a sweet ending, we suggest the pistachio-crusted cheesecake. Lunch is also a treat with mix-and-match soups, salads, and inventive sandwiches such as the BLT with thick slices of Brie and rosemary-fig aïoli. Artisan, boutique and hard-to-find local wines make up the well-chosen wine list.
