| Housed in the historic The Edgewater hotel built on a pier over Elliott Bay (the Beatles famously fished from the window of Room 272 in 1964), Six Seven combines the ambience of an elegant mountain lodge with water views. Chef Jordan Mackey adds his own signature to a solid menu featuring mostly seafood with Asian touches (but you won't find fusion cuisine). Start with roasted Penn Cove mussels or the jumbo Dungeness crab cake with lobster lemon grass sauce. A lovely Dijon-Champagne vinaigrette complements a salad of arugula, candied walnuts, Gorgonzola and Asian pear. Noteworthy seafood includes seared tuna with roasted foie gras, and a simply grilled wild striped bass. Kobe Beef short ribs are braised with saké and ginger and the Harris Ranch filet mignon is crusted in Roquefort. Both the lobster potpie and a rich lobster mac ‘n’ cheese elevate classic comfort food to sophisticated levels. Service is attentive and friendly; the wine selection is robust and well balanced. |
