THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Skipjack's Restaurant Review

: When Skipjack’s first hit the seafood scene a couple of decades ago, its future was uncertain as it was competing against much bigger names. But the restaurant has found a nice niche and is still going strong. The sizeable menu is daring enough to take a few scenic departures from the straight-and-narrow --- there’s grilled mahi mahi teriyaki with Thai noodles, Baja fish tacos with chipotle slaw, and a full sushi bar that turns out, among more traditional maki and nigiri, a spicy four-way sushi-tini with pineapple and tobiko. A good selection of fish comes from as near as the Cape and as far as Hawaii, and is presented with a nice twist (think wasabi crusted salmon and ginger sea bass). While the wine selection is a bit oaky for our tastes, it’s certainly impressive. Overall, let’s put it this way: on the appropriate occasions for Skipjack’s list, we’d mark “brisk business lunches” yes, and “romantic dates” no.
