This old-time family restaurant has been dishing up breakfast and lunch since 1941---and with little apparent change in the luncheonette-truckstop décor of many booths surrounding a U-shaped counter at the heart of one big room. They haven’t tinkered much with the menu, either. Big portions of comfort food---country-fried steak, liver and onions, beef stew, hamburgers, grilled cheese sandwiches, rice pudding---and a hot cup o’ Joe still please the crowds. Amazingly, even the prices have held ground, with $5-$7 covering most main courses with salad and sides of, say, mashed potatoes or creamed corn.
